FAMILY SUPPORT GROUPS
ARTS & CRAFTS
The biggest advantage of the Parent Support Group is helping parents realize that there are other parents who are facing the same issues and struggles. This is often a revelation and huge relief. This group typically meets once a month.
Arts and Crafts are a great way for children with learning and developmental challenges to express feelings, enhance their social skills, and increase their use of sensorimotor skills including hand-eye coordination and sensory stimulation.
We utilize various natural settings to teach kids social skills, play skills, and communication skills. Playdates are an example of a supervised yet natural setting. They facilitate progress from individual play to parallel play and to social play.
We schedule and organize age appropriate playdates for all children who would benefit.

FAMILY YOGA
Yoga's popularity is growing in USA as a complementary therapy for children with learning and developmental challenges such as ADD/ADHD, Autism, and Sensory Processing Disorders. Some of the benefits associated with practicing yoga are reduction of pain, anxiety, aggression, self stimulatory activities, and obsessive behavior.
Cooking offers children a variety of learning experiences. It's a practical way to teach kids basic life skills, as well as academic skills involving reading, science and math. Cooking encourages interaction and communication between parents and children, giving a sense of shared accomplishment and enjoyment of each other's company.
