Play and social skills are some of the most important skills children need to learn. The quality of child's life will improve dramatically through play and social connections.
-
Social skills training and learning how to respond in social situations should begin as early as possible and should be an ongoing goal throughout the child's education.
-
There are three general ways to approach social skill learning: (A) Request that the school offer social skill lessons and activities in the child's classroom, at lunchtime, and in after school programs. Formal goals and activities can be part of the child's IEP. (B) Seek out social skills programs. (C) In natural settings, role play and model various types of social interactions.
SOCIAL SKILLS GROUPS
Forward ABA Group Inc. provides comprehensive social skills groups for children with learning and developmental challenges. These groups are designed to develop conversational and communication skills, problem solving, and friendship. Based on the assessment of each child's social skills, an individualized program is developed to address her/his needs.
Social Skills Groups are run by our experienced ABA staff and supervised by a BCBA. We keep social skill groups small so all children get the attention and direction they need.
